Get smart on it

A software marketplace has launched two new products: an operating system called 8os that lets IT service providers manage AI agents for their customers, and 8bot, an AI assistant that employees can use for everyday tasks. The launch addresses a governance gap, as surveys show that while most small businesses are using or experimenting with AI, only about a quarter have documented policies for it, and nearly half have discovered unauthorized AI tools being used within their organizations. The products are designed to let IT partners serve as advisers who help small businesses implement and control AI safely, with billing and management handled through the existing marketplace that serves hundreds of thousands of businesses.
