NVIDIA joins European Commission AI science initiative

NVIDIA Blog: NVIDIA Expands Advanced Technology Access for Europe’s Scientific Community Through Open Learning Resources, Collaborations and Compute

Much of today’s scientific progress begins with computation.  But turning accelerated computing’s potential into scientific progress — modeling climate systems, designing molecules, simulating materials and more — depends on more than breakthrough technology. Especially for smaller labs, early-career scientists or science-based startups, the hardest part of research can be everything that comes before the science: assembling tools, finding compute and building the expertise to use both.  At the

Get smart on it

NVIDIA is joining the European Commission's AI in Science Enablers Initiative to help Europe's research community access advanced computing tools and expertise. The initiative addresses a key challenge: smaller labs, early-career scientists, and science-based startups often struggle to assemble the necessary tools, compute resources, and technical knowledge needed for research. NVIDIA's contribution includes releasing open source models and datasets, providing training courses, offering startup access to computing resources through collaborations with European AI factories and supercomputing centers, and powering the construction of 35 new supercomputers across the continent. These resources are intended to support scientific research across fields including climate science, molecular design, biology, and materials research.

ScaleFlux bets smarter SSD controllers can break the AI memory bottleneck

AI factories run on graphics processing units that cost a fortune and work at blistering speed, yet those chips increasingly sit idle waiting for data. As the bottleneck moves from compute to memory and storage, NAND flash is being asked to do far more than hold files. That shift is putting data movement constraints at […] The post ScaleFlux bets smarter SSD controllers can break the AI memory bottleneck appeared first on SiliconANGLE.
