OpenAI is expanding ChatGPT Health, a feature that helps users with health-related questions, to all U.S. users over 18 on all subscription plans. The feature allows users to connect their health data from medical records and health platforms so that ChatGPT can reference this information when answering queries, including health-related questions asked in general chat rather than in a dedicated health section. Health-related queries on ChatGPT have grown from 230 million per week to 300 million per week since the feature was first tested in January. The company states its service is not intended for diagnosis or treatment and emphasizes that users should verify information and consult professional medical advice, though several studies have shown AI bots are not reliable for medical guidance.
