Music streamer Deezer says more than 50% of daily uploads are AI-generated

Music streaming company Deezer reported that over half of the tracks uploaded to its platform daily are now AI-generated, up from 10 percent in January 2025. This rapid growth matters because streaming services must decide whether and how to host AI music, with different platforms taking different approaches ranging from bans to monetization restrictions to voluntary labeling systems. Deezer is responding by removing AI-generated tracks that haven't been streamed in six months or are involved in fraudulent streaming, citing the need to protect artist rights while maintaining focus on music fans actually listen to.
