Microsoft’s Clippy-like Mico character is no longer the face of Copilot

Microsoft is removing Mico, an emotive yellow blob character that served as the face of its Copilot chatbot's voice mode, and relocating it to a different platform called Learn Live. Mico was introduced less than a year ago as a way to give the chatbot an identity, with the ability to react in real-time to what users said through facial expressions and animations. The removal is part of Microsoft's broader plans to merge its Copilot and Microsoft 365 Copilot apps, and follows a leadership change where responsibility for Copilot shifted to a new executive. Microsoft states that Mico helped the company learn about how people want to interact with AI, and those learnings will shape Copilot going forward.
