Microsoft released a record number of security patches for its products, citing the use of AI to discover previously hidden vulnerabilities in its code. The company issued patches for hundreds of security flaws, including at least two zero-day vulnerabilities that were already being exploited by hackers before Microsoft knew about them. Microsoft indicated that as AI tools become more advanced at finding security issues, customers should expect even higher volumes of security updates in future releases. This matters because AI is now helping identify dormant security bugs that may have existed in software for years, changing how companies approach vulnerability discovery.

Google is giving its AI note-taking app a new name.
