
Meta’s new AI agent Muse has racked up more downloads and daily active users in the U.S. and Canada than ChatGPT did over the same period after its mobile debut, according to new estimates from Appfigures.
Meta's Muse, a new AI app, has achieved more downloads and daily active users in its first 12 days on the market than ChatGPT did during the same period after its launch, according to estimates from market intelligence provider Apptopia. This comparison is significant because Muse is available on both iOS and Android in the U.S. and Canada, while ChatGPT initially launched only on iOS globally, making direct comparison difficult until Apptopia isolated the data to iOS users in those two countries. Meta has successfully used cross-promotion through its largest platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, to drive adoption of Muse, with over 95 percent of Muse's users also being Facebook users. If these third-party estimates hold, Muse could become one of Meta's major apps, similar to how the company grew Instagram's Threads to over 500 million users through similar promotion strategies.
