
OpenAI’s new report explores how students and educators use ChatGPT to make learning more continuous, with support that extends beyond the classroom.
AI is making learning available to students outside of traditional classroom hours by providing guidance, feedback, and practice whenever they need it. People across all age groups engage in tens of millions of conversations weekly with AI tools to test their knowledge and get practice, with education-related prompts reaching hundreds of millions of messages per week during the school year. This matters because students no longer need to wait for class to ask questions, teachers can spend less time on administrative work and more time teaching, and families who speak different languages at home can better support their children's learning. While AI cannot replace teacher judgment, parental encouragement, or student effort, it can provide individualized support to more people at more times when used with appropriate guidance and safeguards.
