Hark, a well-funded startup, has previewed a browser agent called Handoff that can complete online tasks by navigating websites and interpreting visual information to determine when to click buttons or enter information. The agent can handle websites without official APIs, such as those for shopping, dining reservations, and travel bookings, and the company claims it works faster and costs less than competing models. Multiple tech companies and startups are developing similar computer-use agents, making this part of a broader competitive landscape in AI task automation. Hark plans to release the agent by the end of summer and is currently accepting waitlist signups.
