Four major cloud-based AI models operated by different companies experienced service interruptions within a few hours of each other on Thursday morning, with affected services including ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, and Gemini. While these AI models occasionally go down individually, having all four experience problems during the same short time period is described as practically unheard of. The outages lasted several hours, with some services reporting elevated errors and degraded performance before fixes were deployed or service was restored. Other major internet services including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Cloudflare did not report major issues during the same period.
