Figma plans to support MCP with data sharing limits

TechCrunch: Figma co-founder Dylan Field thinks MCP is not a perfect protocol

Figma said it plans to support as many standards as possible without exposing all of its data

MCP is a standard protocol that allows AI agents to connect to external data sources and tools. Figma's co-founder has expressed concerns that MCP is not a perfect protocol and has room for improvement, particularly noting that it may favor certain companies and creates risks around asymmetric data sharing. Despite these reservations, Figma announced expansion of its support for MCP with new partners, though the company remains cautious about exposing too much data through the protocol due to potential abuse risks.
