Dell sees AI agent guardrails as a path to greater autonomy

As enterprises put AI agents to work, they face a challenge: How can they give those systems more autonomy while keeping AI agent guardrails in place? Security and resilience are becoming central considerations as enterprises decide which tasks to delegate to AI agents. Those decisions extend beyond individual actions to the data protection and cyber […] The post Dell sees AI agent guardrails as a path to greater autonomy appeared first on SiliconANGLE.

Get smart on it

Enterprises are deploying AI agents to automate work, but they must balance giving these systems autonomy with maintaining security safeguards. A security leader from a major technology company argues that designing governance systems and guardrails upfront allows organizations to grant agents bounded autonomy while protecting critical operations, and that organizations establishing these controls early can actually move faster and take more calculated risks. A survey found that most enterprises with autonomous agents in production do not allow them to perform high-risk actions without human approval, though those granting agents bounded autonomy showed stronger recovery readiness than those relying solely on human oversight.

Anthropic says one AI agent beats many subagents now that models can handle complexity alone

Anthropic says companies should evaluate whether they can consolidate sub-agents into a single agent that loads context on demand. In one architecture comparison, the single-agent setup ran about twice as fast. Anthropic has published a migration kit on GitHub to help teams make the transition.
