SiliconANGLE: SAP advances its autonomous enterprise push with smarter, governed Joule agents
SAP SE today announced a set of artificial intelligence innovations at its annual TechEd conference for developers, enhancing its Joule assistant solutions and Business AI Platform, including tabular data foundation models. New capabilities in Joule Work will help AI agents become more efficient and interoperate with open protocols. In this case, the Model Context Protocol […] The post SAP advances its autonomous enterprise push with smarter, governed Joule agents appeared first on Silicon
A software company announced new artificial intelligence capabilities for its Joule assistant, which can now execute multi-step business tasks across enterprise systems using open protocols while maintaining security controls. The advancement addresses a key challenge: AI agents need governance and permissions just like employees, requiring what the company describes as "governed doors" for controlled access and oversight. The company also introduced specialized AI models designed for analyzing structured data in tables rather than natural language, and deployed one of these models on the International Space Station to predict equipment failures and analyze mission health. These updates reflect a broader shift in enterprise AI toward combining flexible AI agents with controlled workflows, data unification across company systems, and AI tools suited to specific business problems beyond language-based tasks.

OpenAI and Oracle are expanding their partnership to bring business applications and AI agents into ChatGPT and power new Oracle offerings.

Apple is bringing an AI assistant to its suite of productivity apps, including Keynote, Pages, and Numbers. The assistant, which is built on AI models from Apple and OpenAI, can understand a document's context to perform tasks like designing, animating, and refining slides in Keynote. In Pages, Apple says the AI assistant can draft, restructure, and tweak written content. It can also calculate, visualize, and organize data in Numbers, while suggesting chart types and building c

Anthropic says companies should evaluate whether they can consolidate sub-agents into a single agent that loads context on demand. In one architecture comparison, the single-agent setup ran about twice as fast. Anthropic has published a migration kit on GitHub to help teams make the transition. Anthropic has launched OSS Scanner, a free, opt-in vulnerability scanner for critical open-source projects. The Anthropic OSS Scanner runs the company’s strongest models, including Claude Mythos, against enrolled codebases. Reports go straight to maintainers without human review. That trade delivers faster findings, but shifts triage work onto project teams. 11 days after the October 8 launch, Anthropic reported 77 critical and 803 high model-rated findings.
