Beyond Siri: Here are the practical AI features coming to your iPhone in iOS 27
Siri’s AI overhaul may have grabbed the headlines at WWDC, but some of Apple’s most useful AI features are arriving elsewhere in iOS 27.

Apple is introducing a series of smaller AI features across its iPhone software rather than relying solely on an overhauled version of Siri, embedding AI into existing apps that people already use. These features include bill splitting through photos of receipts, automatic password updates when breaches occur, smart suggestions in messaging apps, displaying relevant information during customer service calls, creating calendar events through natural language description, automating tasks through simplified shortcuts, and reducing smart home notifications by grouping related actions together. The approach prioritizes solving practical, real-world problems without requiring users to interact with an AI chatbot, instead making the software itself appear smarter and more capable. These features are currently in developer testing and will be released in the fall.
