Anthropic's recent IPO filing reveals the company is using a multi-product strategy to increase customer spending, similar to how Amazon and Uber built sticky ecosystems. More than half of the company's largest enterprise customers now use both its Claude platform and first-party applications, up from about 30% a year earlier, with the highest-spending customers using coding tools spending about 20 times more than average users. The company is expanding its reach through Applied AI teams that embed Claude into customers' existing systems and through partnerships with major cloud providers AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. The filing also notes risks including potential conflicts with these same cloud partners who may view Anthropic as a competitor and customer concentration concerns if major clients reduce spending.
