Amazon’s AI assistant can now spot fake emails from the company

Amazon has launched a new AI feature that allows customers to ask its shopping assistant whether emails, text messages, or phone calls actually came from the company. The assistant compares received messages against a record of every message Amazon has sent while analyzing their contents, formatting, and sender information, and will only confirm authenticity if it is completely certain. This feature addresses impersonation scams, a growing problem for customers trying to distinguish legitimate communications from fraudulent ones. The company previously offered a similar verification option by forwarding suspicious messages to a specific email address.
