VicOne releases free NVIDIA Isaac Sim cybersecurity extension based on DEF CON 34 research

A cybersecurity company has released a free tool that lets robotics developers test how cyberattacks might affect their robots' behavior within a simulation environment. The tool is based on research from a hacking competition where security researchers explored vulnerabilities across robot vision systems, AI models, communications, and embedded systems. As robots are deployed at larger scales in real-world environments, companies need to validate that robots remain safe and reliable even when their digital systems are compromised, rather than testing cybersecurity only in isolation from overall robot function.
