The U.S. Army has awarded a contract to develop TALUS, a modular autonomous distribution system designed to resupply military forces in contested environments. The system aims to reduce soldier exposure to threats while maintaining supply delivery to dispersed units by operating autonomously under degraded conditions. TALUS integrates proven military and commercial technologies from multiple partners and has a modular design that can adapt to different logistics missions and payload requirements. The project is an 18-month prototype effort with a total anticipated value of $15.9 million, after which soldiers will conduct operational evaluations to inform potential broader fielding.
