A construction management software provider is acquiring a robotics and visual intelligence company for approximately $845 million in cash. The acquired company operates a platform used on millions of job sites globally that combines drone imagery, ground robots, and cameras to capture visual data from construction sites. The combined technologies are intended to integrate automated visual inspections with construction project management, allowing teams to automatically document observations, identify issues, and trigger responses within a single platform. The acquiring company plans to use the combined datasets and capabilities to develop what it calls "digital co-workers" that can perceive jobsite conditions and take autonomous action to improve project outcomes.
