The robot is designed to work safely alongside humans by anticipating their presence and responding to contact, and it uses an AI system that integrates the robot's body, mechanics, and intelligence as one unified system. This matters because the tactile sensing allows the robot to learn tasks through physical demonstration, not just by watching motions, which helps it understand requirements like how tightly to grip objects. The robot is being developed for industrial applications and will serve as a customizable platform that can be tailored for different industries including logistics, manufacturing, public safety, inspection, and healthcare.
