Collaborative Robotics unveiled the second generation of its Proxie mobile robot, which combines mobility with manipulation capabilities and adds autonomous task identification. The new system can move heavier loads, swap its own batteries, navigate tighter spaces, and optionally includes dual arms for two-handed tasks. The company developed these improvements based on nearly 13,000 operating hours gathered from customer deployments across hospitals, laboratories, manufacturing, and logistics facilities. A key advancement is "autotasking," where the robot observes its environment to identify materials ready to move and determine destinations without human intervention or warehouse management system integration.
