GPT-Live is a new full-duplex voice model that can listen and speak simultaneously, enabling more natural real-time conversations with AI. Unlike earlier voice systems that processed speech in discrete turns or through separate pipelines, GPT-Live makes interaction decisions many times per second and delegates complex tasks like web search or deep reasoning to a background model while keeping the conversation flowing. Two versions, GPT-Live-1 and GPT-Live-1 mini, have been evaluated as strongly preferred over previous Advanced Voice Mode in human tests measuring conversational flow and naturalness.
