Proton, a privacy-focused productivity app company, released an upgraded version of its AI chatbot called Lumo 2.0. The upgrade adds image recognition and generation capabilities, faster response times (up to 76% faster), a new "thinking mode" for complex questions, and user-controlled persistent memory for Projects. Lumo distinguishes itself from other major chatbots through its privacy protections, including zero-access encryption architecture, no server-side logging of sessions, and a promise never to use customer data for AI training or share it with third parties.
