
At IFA 2026, Nvidia and its partners showed off the first RTX Spark-powered laptops and mini PCs, designed to run AI models right on your computer.
Nvidia has released its RTX Spark superchip, which enables personal computers to run artificial intelligence models locally rather than relying on cloud services. Several manufacturers including Lenovo, Dell, Asus, Microsoft, and HP are launching laptops powered by this chip, as well as mini desktop PCs offering similar capability. This matters because running AI workflows locally on a personal device reduces dependence on cloud services and addresses privacy concerns when AI processes sensitive personal data. The new systems represent a shift toward on-device AI processing, though they are expected to be expensive due to high memory requirements.
