The EU’s next chapter in AI is agentic

New analysis shows how agentic AI adoption is growing across EU enterprises and small businesses—and where deeper use could unlock more value.

Get smart on it

EU businesses are increasingly using agentic AI tools that can complete full tasks rather than just answer questions. Among large enterprise customers in the EU, more than half of AI activity now involves these agentic tools, and usage among small and medium businesses grew more than eightfold since May 2026. However, adoption varies significantly across EU countries and lags behind companies outside the EU, revealing a substantial gap in how intensively European businesses use AI compared to the global frontier.

AI governance shifts to runtime as always-on agents spread

As enterprises move from debating artificial intelligence adoption to deploying it, AI governance has become the harder question. Autonomous agents now run around the clock across a sprawl of platforms, and controls built for deterministic software were never designed for them. At Dell Technologies Inc.’s “AI Leadership Symposium,” cost and control were recurring themes in enterprise […] The post AI governance shifts to runtime as always-on agents spread appeared first on
