Agentic AI merges security and data resilience

SiliconANGLE: The agentic AI era is forcing security and resilience into a single discipline

For two decades, security and data resilience have been neighbors who share a fence but rarely a budget. Security kept bad actors out, while resilience brought the business back when they got in. Agentic artificial intelligence is tearing down that fence, yet most organizations haven’t noticed. Last year, I wrote that Veeam Software Group GmbH’s […] The post The agentic AI era is forcing security and resilience into a single discipline appeared first on SiliconANGLE.

Get smart on it

Security and data resilience have traditionally been separate disciplines, but agentic artificial intelligence is merging them into a single field. When AI agents act on data at machine speed, organizations cannot secure what they cannot recover, and cannot recover what they do not understand. The challenge is particularly acute because agents can modify data rather than just stealing or encrypting it, requiring organizations to identify precisely what changed, restore it, and validate identities to prevent recurring incidents. Most organizations are using or piloting AI agents but lack the integrated tools and playbooks needed to detect agent activity, scope damage, and recover data as a coordinated function.
