Forrester predicts financial services shift to AI-driven finance

SiliconANGLE: Research prediction: Shift from digital banking to AI-driven finance will transform financial services in 2027

The coming year will signal an abrupt transition from digital banking to intelligent finance, as AI agents and operating models reshape the ways that financial firms acquire customers and provide advice. Get smart on it

A Forrester Research report predicts that financial services will shift from digital banking to AI-driven finance in 2027, with AI agents and new operating models reshaping how financial firms acquire customers and provide advice. The research surveyed 915 respondents in the U.S., U.K., and Canada and found that while one-third of banks plan to announce AI transformation programs, only 5% are expected to succeed due to banks rebranding existing initiatives without making significant changes to underlying infrastructure. Financial institutions will need to scale AI deployment by modernizing their operations, potentially through mergers and acquisitions to acquire proprietary data and AI capabilities. The report also indicates that 40% of banks will launch AI assistants, with success depending on their ability to use proprietary data and specialized expertise to provide differentiated guidance to customers.

OpenAI's upcoming chat-and-work merger in ChatGPT signals the end of all-you-can-prompt pricing

OpenAI combines the Chat and Work modes into a single interface. Starting in December, Plus, Pro, and Business plans will share a common, token-based quota for ChatGPT and Codex. More complex models consume more of this quota, while simple instant chats do not count toward it. In practice, this is likely to result in a decline in ChatGPT’s quality for heavy users on lower-cost plans.
