OpenAI: Introducing Images 2.6
Images 2.6 brings faster image generation, GIF creation, more precise editing, and new API controls across ChatGPT, Codex, and the API.
OpenAI has released Images 2.6, an update to its image generation tool available in ChatGPT, Codex, and the API. The new version generates images 50% faster than before and adds the ability to create animated GIFs from text prompts, allowing users to animate characters and product visuals for social media and other applications. The update also provides developers with more precise editing controls through new tools like image markup and SVG exports, along with adjustable complexity and quality parameters to balance speed and detail. Currently, users create 4 billion images per week across OpenAI's platforms, and this release aims to make the iteration process faster while maintaining consistency in characters and brand details across edits.
