OpenAI: Heimstaden is changing residential real estate management with AI
Discover how Heimstaden uses OpenAI’s ChatGPT Enterprise and Codex to transform property management, cut costs, and empower employees across Europe.
A European residential real estate operator is using AI tools to transform how it manages thousands of homes, from setting rental prices and creating property listings to assessing environmental risks. The work traditionally done through multiple manual steps and specialist input is now supported by AI at each stage, though employees remain responsible for reviewing and approving all decisions. The company reports significant cost reductions, such as a 99 percent decrease in virtual staging image production costs in one market, and saw half its employees adopt AI tools within two to three months of introduction. The shift represents a broader change in residential property management where the fundamental purpose of providing homes remains unchanged, but the operational processes are being reshaped through AI implementation.
