SiliconANGLE: As AI takes over coding, Oracle rethinks how applications are built
As vibe coding moves from novelty to everyday practice, enterprises face a new problem: Machine-generated software still has to be maintained, governed and understood by people. Low-code platforms were built to speed up application development, and AI is now rewriting that mission. Oracle Corp. previewed its answer ahead of its annual conference, and the tipping […] The post As AI takes over coding, Oracle rethinks how applications are built appeared first on SiliconANGLE.
As artificial intelligence increasingly generates software code, enterprises face a new challenge: machine-generated code still requires human maintenance, governance, and comprehension. A major software company has introduced a specialized language called APEXlang, designed to capture the intent behind applications rather than their detailed implementation, making AI-generated code easier for people to understand and manage. This language is being made publicly available so various AI coding agents can learn to generate it, with the goal of creating smaller, more consistent, and more governable applications across enterprises. The shift toward machine-generated code represents a fundamental change in how applications will be built going forward.

More complex models consume more of this quota, while simple instant chats do not count toward it. In practice, this is likely to result in a decline in ChatGPT’s quality for heavy users on lower-cost plans.
