Two companies have partnered to combine robot arms with artificial intelligence software designed to handle unstructured tasks in retail and logistics, such as processing returned items and picking goods. The partnership matters because their joint solution can work with mixed goods and unknown items without needing to be retrained for each new task, and it has already moved beyond pilot stages to real customer deployments across Europe. The technology uses AI software that enables robots to grasp and handle objects they have never seen before, addressing one of the hardest jobs in logistics: processing returned products that arrive in varying shapes, orientations, and packaging. This collaboration aims to scale AI-powered automation solutions across North America and other markets through an established network of robot integrators and distributors.

The Eiliko robot toy. | Photo by Sean Hollister / The Verge Eiliko, a cute robot charm you can hang on your bag with built-in AI conversations, turned out to be a security nightmare. It told owners that "your secrets are safe with me," but hackers could easily read complete transcripts of everything we told the toy, and that was just the beginning. The Verge and security researcher Sammy Azdoufal spent over a month trying to get in contact with the company, including emails to E
