
Companies without their own models — or without a layer of AI infrastructure known as AI gateways to separate their prompts from the model itself — will be in trouble, Nadella says.

He argues that businesses must retain control over their own data and usage information so they can eventually build their own AI models, rather than outsourcing their "thinking" to external AI labs. OpenAI said it has suspended work on some aspects of its upcoming model Astra over concerns about its cybersecurity prowess.
