Meta's CEO told staff that the development of AI agents has not progressed as quickly as company executives previously expected. Earlier this year, Meta laid off approximately 10 percent of its corporate workforce and reassigned thousands of employees to AI-focused groups, partly because leaders were concerned the company needed to move faster to adapt to changing technology. The CEO acknowledged that the expected benefits from this restructuring have not materialized yet, though he expressed hope for improvements within the next three to six months.
