Six major tech leaders signed a "morally binding" safety pledge called the Joint Commitment on Frontier Responsibilities, committing their companies to self-police their AI technology according to common sense guidelines with no stated consequences for violations. Trump stated that concerns about AI safety being a "hoax" no longer apply now that he has renamed the technology "Super Intelligence," and argued that government guardrails are unnecessary because US companies are dominating China.
