Apple says more ex-employees may have taken confidential data to OpenAI
Apple says its trade secrets investigation into OpenAI has widened. In a new court filing, Apple claims additional former staff may have retained or accessed confidential information.

Apple is seeking a preliminary injunction to stop an AI model maker from developing products based on Apple's technology, claiming that multiple former Apple employees took confidential data. The company's investigation has identified 11 additional former employees who may have been witnesses or involved in the trade secrets theft beyond those named in the original complaint. Examples cited include a former employee who met with accused individuals before an interview and discussed proprietary information about unannounced products, and another who took screenshots of confidential documents. The AI model maker has responded by denying the allegations and stating it does not have or want Apple's trade secrets, while also pointing to procedural errors Apple made during its investigation.
