Apple accuses OpenAI of destroying evidence

Apple is suing OpenAI over allegations that the company stole trade secrets, with the lawsuit centered on three former Apple employees who joined OpenAI. Apple claims that OpenAI is destroying evidence and is requesting expedited discovery, alleging that a former employee kept a company-owned laptop containing confidential information and discussions about destroying forensic data. After OpenAI finally handed over the laptop in August, Apple's inspection found that the former employee had downloaded a confidential Apple circuit schematic and used it at OpenAI, and had also maintained access to Apple's cloud storage system. OpenAI counters that Apple's own employee exit process is poorly managed and maintains there is no evidence the former employee accessed Apple information improperly or for improper purposes.
