What has users and large corporations so excited about Jev is TypeSafe’s claim that it works significantly faster and uses far fewer tokens than LLMs.
TypeSafe AI has raised $870 million for Jev, a newly launched AI model valued at $7.5 billion, just weeks after its release. Unlike large language models that generate text, Jev produces probabilities and calibrated decisions while working significantly faster and using fewer tokens, positioning it for task automation rather than text generation. The funding round was led by Andreessen Horowitz with participation from Sequoia and existing investor DCVC.

Cloudflare has released Clef-omni, a new open-weight member of its Clef decision model family. Clef-omni is a Cloudflare decision model that scores text, images, audio and video in 1 call. It arrived on October 9, 2026, 8 days after the original Clef and Clef-flash launch. The same update cut Clef-flash pricing below TypeSafe’s Jev and made hosted Clef roughly 2x faster. For developers, this removes the transcription and captioning steps that multimodal agent pipelines usually need. TL
