OpenAI makes Decisions API generally available to developers

OpenAI: Build more responsive apps with the Decisions API

Fast, focused, low-cost decisions for any application.

Get smart on it

OpenAI has made the Decisions API generally available, a tool designed to help applications and agents make quick, structured decisions based on text, images, and data inputs. The API is built with GPT-6 Luna and can make decisions up to 10 times faster than other methods, which reduces latency and costs when applications need to classify inputs, route requests, or determine next actions at scale. Developers define a question with allowed answers, provide context, and receive one of three response types: a probability estimate, a choice from predefined options, or a scored rating. The API integrates with GPT-Live for real-time voice applications and costs $0.10 per million input tokens, with cached input at $0.01 per million tokens.
