Savi Security is a newly launched app that detects AI-generated scams delivered through texts, emails, voicemails, and phone calls, with a distinctive feature that allows users to add a live agent to monitor suspicious calls in real time. The startup was founded after one of the founders' mothers nearly fell victim to an AI scam involving a fake kidnapping ransom demand that used spoofed caller ID, cloned voice, and specific location details. AI tools have made scamming consumers financially viable for criminals by drastically reducing the cost and complexity of creating convincing frauds, whereas such sophisticated attacks were previously targeted only at wealthy organizations. The FTC reported that imposter scams cost people 3.5 billion dollars in 2025, triple the amount from 2020, with both older Americans and Gen Z being susceptible targets.
