Restate, a Berlin-based startup that builds infrastructure to make multi-step workflows resilient to crashes and network interruptions, has secured $20 million in Series A funding. The company's technology has become particularly valuable for managing AI agent processes, which run longer and take unpredictable paths compared to traditional software, requiring systems that can track actions precisely and ensure reproducible outcomes. Restate competes in the durable infrastructure space against larger providers like Temporal and has already attracted high-profile customers despite being much smaller. The fresh capital will be used to hire a go-to-market team, expand engineering staff, and grow the company's San Francisco Bay Area office.

Satlyt wants to be the Android of orbital computing, offering open software that works on many companies' satellites, versus SpaceX's closed, all-in-one iPhone-style approach.

Flow Engineering, which is bringing AI agents to hardware design, also landed Roelof Botha as an angel investor and board member.

The $300 million employee tender was co-led by Wellington and T. Rowe Price.
