Nvidia's investment in SoftBank's data center developer will guarantee its chips power an OpenAI data center.
Will Nvidia's $1.5B SoftBank investment be formally confirmed by August 25, 2026?

Nvidia is investing $1.5 billion in SB Energy, a data center developer backed by SoftBank and OpenAI, and will serve as the sole supplier of computing infrastructure for a new data center project near Cincinnati, Ohio. Nvidia will also provide up to $105 billion in credit to help build and expand the facility from an initial 4.25 gigawatts to 8 gigawatts. The facility will be powered by a $33 billion natural gas power plant on land owned by the U.S. Department of Energy. This investment matters because it signals major capital commitments to support large-scale AI infrastructure, though the rising costs of natural gas power plants and increased competition for natural gas supply could have broader economic effects.

OpenAI and CodeAI are partnering to help students build AI literacy, think critically about AI, and develop the skills to use and shape it responsibly.

"We have some really ambitious plans to help you work with AI in Chrome to get things done, and I’ll have more to share soon," Jacob Bank, Relay founder and CEO, said.

The model maker added $18 billion in annualized revenue in two months.
