Mistral opens a Munich hub for Physics AI and Industrial AI research, partnering with German industry.

Mistral, an AI company, is opening a hub in Munich to develop artificial intelligence applications for German industry. The hub will focus on Physics AI and Industrial AI, capabilities designed to solve complex engineering problems in manufacturing, automotive, energy, and aerospace sectors. Mistral emphasizes that its technology architecture keeps data and computation on customers' own infrastructure under European law, rather than relying on vendor-controlled servers. The company plans to build one gigawatt of European compute capacity by 2030 and has formed a research partnership with a technical university to develop digital twins for automotive aerodynamics.
