
The AI-focused hedge fund is still making some big bets.
Situational Awareness, an AI-focused hedge fund, invested $400 million in Source Foundry, a chip startup founded by Stanford researchers, bringing its total investment in the company to $500 million. The hedge fund faced significant recent losses tied to declines in AI infrastructure stocks and was forced to sell off most of its public portfolio last month, though it retained its shares in Anthropic. Despite these setbacks that reduced its assets under management from $20 billion to $10 billion, the fund is continuing to make major bets on AI-related companies.

Denise Dresser, who joined OpenAI as its chief revenue officer in December after serving as CEO of Slack, will be leaving in the "coming weeks" to "pursue other opportunities," she said in a team note posted to LinkedIn.
