Resolves by Sep 15, 2026
Bloomberg reported that SpaceX attempted to acquire Cognition, an AI coding startup, as part of SpaceX's effort to compete with other major players in artificial intelligence. Cognition's CEO denied the report on social media, stating the company is not for sale and that the two companies have not been in talks. This acquisition attempt comes after SpaceX recently acquired another AI coding startup and is trying to build AI into a major part of its business, with the company's leadership stating that AI could eventually represent 99 percent of the company's value. Cognition operates independently with enterprise customers including major financial and automotive firms, and Bloomberg reports the companies may still discuss working together on computing capacity despite the failed acquisition talks.
