Anthropic has been on a cloud partnership spree in recent months, and its latest move is reportedly a $10 billion deal with AI cloud startup Volta.

Anthropic, a maker of an AI assistant called Claude, has signed a $10 billion deal with Volta, a newly founded AI cloud startup, to provide computing power over a six-year period. Volta will build a data center in Norway with a crypto-mining company as a partner, powered by Nvidia's latest AI chips and designed to deliver 133 megawatts of capacity. This deal is part of Anthropic's recent effort to aggressively expand its computing resources as it competes with other AI companies, following similar deals announced with other providers. The arrangement reflects the significant infrastructure investments required to develop and run large AI systems.
