
Anthropic-backed Ode launches as AI labs bet that embedding forward-deployed engineers inside enterprises is the key to accelerating enterprise AI adoption.
Anthropic and Blackstone have created an AI implementation company called Ode that deploys AI engineers to help businesses figure out how to use AI models in their operations, betting that this service category could become a trillion-dollar business. The move reflects a shift among AI labs toward recognizing that enterprise success requires more than just building better AI models, it requires helping companies actually integrate and use those models effectively. Ode was formed as a joint venture that acquired an AI services startup called Fractional AI and currently employs 100 engineers who work with businesses to create custom AI solutions tailored to their specific operations. This strategy mirrors similar efforts by other AI labs and puts these companies in competition with established consulting firms that are also building teams to help enterprises implement AI technology.
