Get smart on it

Pathos AI, a startup developing cancer drugs using an artificial intelligence platform called Foundry, raised $237 million in funding at a $3 billion valuation, with pharmaceutical giant Bristol Myers Squibb leading the investment round. Foundry analyzes approximately 200 petabytes of oncological data to help researchers identify the most promising drug candidates and the patients most likely to benefit from them, while also planning clinical trials based on biomarkers. The funding will support Pathos' drug development programs, including efforts to develop cancer therapies such as antibody-drug conjugates and ER PROTAC drugs, as well as a collaboration with Bristol Myers Squibb and Tempus AI involving the licensing of anonymized patient data on neurological conditions. The partnership demonstrates how pharmaceutical companies are integrating artificial intelligence platforms into drug discovery and clinical trial processes to improve the probability of success in drug development.
