Agility Robotics, a humanoid robotics startup that originated from Oregon State University in 2015, is planning to become a publicly traded company through a merger with a special purpose acquisition company valued at roughly $2.5 billion. The company makes Digit, a bipedal robot currently deployed across nine customer sites including major manufacturers and logistics companies. The transaction is expected to raise over $620 million, which Agility plans to use to increase production of its next-generation Digit v5 model, fulfill existing orders exceeding $300 million, and expand to new customers from a pipeline of more than 30 potential large-scale deployments. The company has backing from major tech investors including Amazon, Nvidia, and SoftBank Vision Fund 2.
