At this year's World Cup, FIFA is providing all teams with an AI agent that analyzes opponent data and recreates matches in 3D to help coaches prepare. The concern is whether this tool will actually level the playing field, since wealthier nations can afford additional AI systems and teams of data scientists that smaller countries cannot. Data and AI are now integral to modern soccer, used for player scouting, tactical decisions, penalty analysis, and manager selection, giving technological advantages to teams with resources to build and operate these tools. The question remains whether FIFA's universal AI tool can close the gap between well-funded nations with extensive data departments and smaller countries with limited resources.
