Un-0 is an image-generation system tool that shows for the first time how the company's technology can replicate conventional AI systems.
A company led by a former AI chief at Databricks has released its first image-generation model using a new type of computing architecture based on oscillators instead of conventional chips. The company claims this oscillator-based approach could reduce the power consumption of AI inference by as much as 1,000 times compared to current systems. The model performs similarly to existing image-generation systems, though it currently runs on a software simulation rather than actual hardware. The effort matters because energy consumption is identified as a fundamental limiting factor for AI scaling in the coming years.

In February 2024, Notion bought Skiff, an encrypted email and productivity software startup. Within a year, Notion shut down Skiff’s email service (taking @skiff.com email addresses with it).
